Strength-Focused

yoga classes that build strength throughout the whole body

These classes are currently on hold.

Classes are led by yoga instructor Nick Gold and myself. Although challenging these classes are open to all levels.

WHY THESE CLASSES
From experience I have learnt that we need to develop strength throughout the body to ensure we do not hurt ourselves. 

To put it simply many of us neglect the use of strength during practice or rely too much on flexibility. We dump weight on our weak joints and forget to engage muscles and other body tissues during practice. This approach to practice often leads to joint instability and injuries further down the line. Increased flexibility must always be balanced with strength!

The more we learn, and the more body awareness we develop, the better we can adjust our practices to ensure our body becomes stronger and healthier. 

 

HOW MUCH

These classes are donation-based, which means you pay what you can. And if you can’t donate you can attend them for free, no questions asked.

Spine Strength & Flexibility

1-week workshop

(available on teachable)

Available from September 2020.

Program for spine STABILITY & MOBILITY development 

In this program we explore and learn the foundation postures for spine strength and flexibility. We will also go through the theory behind backbends and the spine

By the end of the program you will have a better understanding of the anatomy of the spine and how to safely load it in your practices. You will also have a set sequence for maintaining and developing spine flexibility, strength and balance in a functional, effective, and safe way.

This program is being developed to be completed in one week (one session per day). 

Suggested time of practice: afternoons or early evenings

Conscious Cycle for Women

3-hour workshop

A workshop for women, and men too if they wish to better understand the women in their lives 

In this workshop we are going to understand the different phases we go through every single month, what they each require, and how we can adapt in order to be and feel our best throughout the entire cycle. 

TOPICS

  • mentrual cycle and its different phases

  • adapting diet, exercise, social life, and work to each phase

  • yoga sequence for menstrual phase

Spine Strength & Flexibility

2-week intensive

(live on zoom)

20-hour program for spine STABILITY & MOBILITY development 

1st Week: foundation postures for spine strength and flexibility - set sequence.

2nd Week: personalized approach - postures are added to the sequence acording to practitioner's specific needs and anatomic characteristics.

By the end of the program you will have your own set sequence for maintaining / developing spine flexibility, strength and balance in a functional, effective, and safe way.
