I'm a Prana Vashya Yoga teacher for people who want to feel good in their own unique bodies and gain confidence in their capabilities.

 

I have seen time and time again how powerful the human body and mind are. We often just don't know how strong and resilient we can actually be.

 

My mission at present is to show you your power and support your journey towards a strong body & a resilient mind.

 

​I am known for my gentle yet powerful approach to teaching. Over the years, I have taught over 2000 hours of the Prana Vashya system to countless students and I can tell you this practice really works.

INTRODUCING THE 4-WEEK PRANA VASHYA COURSE

The 4-Week Prana Vashya Course is a program that develops physical strength & mental resilience.

I'd like for you to think of Prana Vashya as a vaccine. During the practice of Prana Vashya we introduce stress to the body and mind with the intention of becoming immune to it. The stress is introduced at various levels:

Vasculature of the Heart

HEART

we affect the rhythm of our heart by exposing the body to a practice that is physically challenging,

LUNGS

we alternate the space our lungs have to breathe between limited and expansive by putting our bodies in different shapes

NERVOUS SYSTEM

we affect the nervous system by going through different levels of stress during the sequence

BREATH

we affect the pattern of our breath as our mind morphes through different states during practice

HOW DOES IT WORK?

During the Prana Vashya Course we have classes every day from Monday to Friday in the early morning for 4 consecutive weeks. Here's what we work on each week:

FIRST TWO WEEKS

The focus is on the physical body. These first two weeks of the intensive are dedicated to learning the sequence and understanding how to transition between and hold the yoga postures of the primary series of the Prana Vashya system.

I work with every one individually which means I offer different variations and progressions of postures to each one depending on the student's own anatomical structure and current needs.

LAST TWO WEEKS

As the postures become more natural and easy to perform, we start focusing on moving in and out of these shapes with our breath. We even start synchronizing our breath with the more subtle movements that happen when we hold postures. This aspect of practice requires a lot of concentration. When it happens though we effectively achieve the goal of this practice, which is a calm state of mind.

…it was however her authoritative and firm voice that got me through the hard and intense parts of the practice and this is where Prana Vasha really began to make sense to me and I saw the real benefits developing; the strength of the mind.

…she has created a really special space for practicing that is friendly and homely but also filled with such strong intentions and focussed energy. I realise the relationship of Student to teacher is sooo important for yoga. The balance of instruction and self exploration/intuition was so nice and taught me to trust myself.

BOOKLET WITH THE PRANA VASHYA SERIES & CHANTINGS

The Prana Vashya primary series is composed of 60 different postures (besides the sun salutations). It is long and it can take a while to memorize it. Having this booklet will help you interiorize the sequence as well as have the chantings handy to follow along at the beginning and end of each session.

COMMUNITY

I always keep the Prana Vashya batches small. I do this so I can work with every one individually, although another good consequence of it is the intimate and supportive environment it creates. You will be practicing every day with the same small group of people for 4 consecutive weeks. By the end and having gone through quite the challenge together you might find you have made friends for life.

THE WHOLE REASON WHY I CREATED THIS COURSE IS BECAUSE OF HOW MASSIVELY THIS PRACTICE HAS IMPACTED MY LIFE

It was 2015 when totally by accident I end up in Mysore, India taking a one-month intensive course on the Prana Vashya system with teacher Vinay Kumar.

 

The month went something like this:

  1. First week was a total mess! I felt so out of place. The Prana Vashya sequence seemed really difficult. I didn't know how to breathe properly and kept opening my mouth grasping for air. Throughout the sessions I'd look around to my fellow practitioners searching for someone struggeling as much as I was, but everyone seemed so composed and graceful. I felt awful.

  2. Second week was a little better. I already knew the sequence, so wasn't taken by surprise, and was getting the hang of the breath. By the end though, my body started to feel really tired.

  3. Third week was the worst! I really considered giving up. I got ill (which I know now happens due to the physiological changes the body goes through), and I started questioning everything, from "why am I doing this?" to "what is the origin of the universe?". It was super intense. But I kept at it. I didn't miss a session, even when that meant having a 40 minute nap in one of the classes (yes, that actually happened).

  4. Fourth week was shockingly……GREAT! It was honestly INCREDIBLE. Once my being ill was in the rearview mirror, I came back STRONGER than ever. I had energy, my body felt strong and light, the breathing felt effortless, and my mind was pleasently calm. 

The weeks that followed the experience of the Prana Vashya Course were very interesting. I noticed I had changed. My mind had changed. I realized I wasn't as reactive as before. Whenever I was confronted with a stressful situation afterwards, I would naturally stay calm, take a step back and engage in constructive action rather than having the impulsive emotional type of reaction I used to have. It felt really good to have my mind in such a state and I didn't want it to change back.

In 2017 I trained under Vinay Kumar and became authorized to teach the Prana Vashya primary series, which I've been doing ever since and absolutely love it! I've witnessed countless times how impactful this 4-week course is and how life-changing it's been to so many students.
